Top Diplomat Briefly Halts Trump with Handwritten Note on Middle East Peace Deal

An urgent handwritten note delivered to Donald Trump by his top diplomat, Marco Rubio, indicated that an announcement regarding a peace agreement in Gaza could be made very soon.

Captured in a image, the note's text urged the president to authorize a post on his social media platform to break the news first.

"Nearly there," it stated, as shown in the photo. "You are needed to approve a Truth Social post soon so you can announce deal first."

Shortly after the note was revealed, Trump published on his platform, expressing he was "very proud" to announce the first phase of the deal.

"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released shortly, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace," he stated.

The Incident the Note Was Passed to Trump

Trump was conducting a roundtable event with conservative influencers about far-left groups when Rubio, positioned in the rear of the White House's Blue Room, caught his eye.

He had news for Trump, he explained, but it would have to wait until after the press departed. Then, Rubio passed the president the message.

"I was just given a note by the secretary of state saying that we're nearing completion to a deal on the Middle East, and they're gonna require my input soon," Trump announced. "Therefore, we will address a couple of more questions."

Behind the Scenes of the Peace Talks

The event had already been underway for more than an hour when Rubio first approached. The president invited him to enter, and Rubio whispered something to Trump before handing him the note.

The note's pressing nature coincided with Trump's key regional advisor, Steve Witkoff, Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and other senior officials joined a third day of negotiations between Israel and Hamas at an Red Sea location – a indication that delegates are working to tackle the most challenging topics of a US plan to halt hostilities in Gaza.

Trump's Comments on Overseas Trip

Trump had begun the influencer event by informing the press that he intended to travel to the Middle East "near the conclusion of the week" and could even "make the rounds" in the region to Cairo and possibly Gaza as US negotiators neared completion of a deal.

Nevertheless, even after Rubio passed Trump the note, Trump kept speaking to the influencers and take questions from the media as the secretary of state became noticeably restless.

Wrapping Up the Event

Almost 10 minutes after his initial comments about leaving, Trump said: "I must leave now to try and resolve some problems in the Middle East – although I'm ably assisted by our secretary of state. He could likely do an more effective job than me, but who knows."

"We wish to avoid to take any chances. So we're going to go and do that," Trump continued.

He then suggested that two attendees stay and answer inquiries in his stead. Nonetheless, Trump kept fielding questions before the event concluded without Cabinet members staying.

"We will achieve peace in the Middle East," Trump wrapped by saying. "That is exactly what we want to do."
